Instead, we offer a better solution: the EASY FALL® Guttering System, which features an in-built Leaf & Ember Guard that prevents leaves and other debris from getting into your gutters. This helps to keep your gutter system free-flowing, reducing the need for regular gutter cleaning.

The biggest problem with standard guttering is incorrect fall: a gutter that isn’t sloped enough for water to flow through to the downpipes. When the slope isn’t angled correctly, the gutter clogs with water, leaves and other debris. The standing water leads to rust, and when the gutter overflows, water can flow inward towards the house – in the worst cases into the roof cavity.
The EASY FALL® adjustable bracket solves this by ensuring all the water gets to your downpipes, while the gutter looks perfectly straight from the outside.
When it rains, the water drains through the metal Leaf & Ember Guard into the open PVC channel underneath. The adjustable brackets then allow the water to be directed to the downpipes.
The problem of rust is eliminated because the water is being channelled by a non-metallic material. The PVC guttering system is shielded by COLORBOND® steel, which protects it from the sun and gives your home a stylish new look.
The brackets are adjusted to attain correct fall along the run, whilst keeping a straight appearance on the outside. This means all the water will flow away. The adjustable bracket allows up to 75mm of fall, hidden inside the system. Read more about how it works.
The EASY FALL® Guttering System is made from two materials. The outer shell is pre-painted steel made with COLORBOND® technology, which resists corrosion, fading and chalking. Inside the shell, a PVC channel carries the water, so the system can’t rust. The steel shell also protects the PVC from the sun and gives your home a stylish new look.
The main visible difference is the shape of the outer shell: the Original has a flat, angular front, while the Roll Formed system has a curved front.
The Roll Formed system is the cost-effective alternative: it’s cheaper than our EASY FALL® Original Guttering System, and it’s ideal for DIY, as minimal tools and experience are required.

A guttering downpipe, also called a roof drainpipe, is a vertical pipe that directs rainwater from the gutter down to the ground. Downpipes lead rainwater away from your building’s foundation into a drain, protecting your home from the elements.
As a rule of thumb, divide the roof catchment area by the maximum allowable catchment per downpipe, then round up to the nearest whole number. A higher number of downpipes can increase the efficiency of your gutter system. If you only have one or two downpipes installed and they break down, they render your gutter system useless.
In most cases, no. The EASY FALL® adjustable bracket ensures all the water gets to your downpipes, whilst looking perfectly straight from the outside, so in most cases there’s no need to install extra downpipes.
Downpipes can easily clog with debris. Leaves, twigs, dirt, and even small animals can cause a blockage inside the downpipe. When these accumulate, they make it difficult for rainwater to pass through and drain properly.
The EASY FALL® Leaf & Ember Guard helps prevent this: its leaf filters let even the heaviest rain through to your gutter while keeping leaves and debris out of your downpipes.
Leaves, dirt and sediment can wash down into your downpipes and from there into your stormwater drainage system. Clearing a blocked stormwater drain typically requires a plumber with jet blasting equipment, and in more serious cases, excavation to access the affected section. That is a significantly more expensive outcome than a gutter clean, and one that a good quality leaf guard could have prevented in the first place.

Yes. Four leaf filters per metre allow even the heaviest rain to penetrate through the EASY FALL® Leaf & Ember Guard into your gutter, while keeping leaves and debris out of your downpipes.
Yes. The pine needles will still collect on the EASY FALL® Leaf & Ember Guard, but the raised filters still allow the rainwater to flow into the interior PVC channel and drainage system. During rainfall – a portion of the pine needles will also wash through the system. An occasional clean with a leaf blower, hose or brush may be required.
Yes. The EASY FALL® Leaf & Ember Guard has been independently tested in accordance with AS/NZS 1530.3:1999. Results were zero for ignitability, spread of flame and heat evolved, with low smoke release (2/10) – giving your guttering high protection from embers.
Common plastic leaf guards simply do not work long term. They tend to let debris into gutters, hot embers burn through them, and they deteriorate in sunlight. Other leaf guards allow dirt to build up causing weeds to block the flow of water.
The EASY FALL® Leaf & Ember Guard is made from COLORBOND® steel. It will not melt from embers, will not deteriorate in sunlight, and carries a 25-year warranty against rust.
The EASY FALL® Leaf & Ember Guard is shaped so that with the action of the sun drying the leaves and the wind, most leaf litter will blow away depending on your home’s aspect.
If your home has a poor sun/wind aspect, then a regular to occasional clean off with a leaf blower or hose will be required. The EASY FALL® Leaf & Ember Guard is designed to accept water, even when there is a moderate leaf build-up.
The EASY FALL® Leaf & Ember Guard’s leaf filters are close together, so leaves dry out quickly and most leaf litter blows away.
If your home has a poor sun/wind aspect, or some debris gets caught in the filters, a clean off with a leaf blower, broom or hose may be required every 6, 12 or 18 months, or every 2 years.
There’s no need to remove the entire EASY FALL® Leaf & Ember Guard. A single leaf filter can be removed, a hose inserted, and the internal gutter flushed out directly.
Yes. Conventional gutters fitted with a guard will still require periodic internal cleaning to remove the fine dirt and sediment that accumulates over time. The EASY FALL® Leaf & Ember Guard makes that job less frequent and more manageable, but it does not eliminate it entirely.
No system eliminates maintenance entirely. What a well-designed system does is reduce how often maintenance is needed and make it easier to manage when it is.
Regular washing with fresh water will prolong the life of COLORBOND® steel gutters. We recommend hosing down the system’s exterior and interior at least twice a year. Always ensure that there is no build-up of dirt and debris.
For maintenance sessions that don’t fully remove all the dirt, BlueScope Steel recommends washing the surface with a mild solution of pure soap or mild non-abrasive kitchen detergent in warm water. You should use a sponge or soft cloth and gently rub the surface of the COLORBOND® steel. Do not use solvent or abrasive cleaners such as kerosene or paint thinners.
Yes. Gutter maintenance is especially needed during autumn as fallen leaves tend to accumulate on roofs quickly. With standard guttering, you need to regularly clean your gutters during this season to remove the blockages.
